LAWLER - Alma Rose Wieling Schaufenbuel, 88, of Lawler, died Thursday, July 14, 2005, at New Hampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, New Hampton.

She was born June 3, 1917, in Festina, daughter of Joseph and Frances Bengfort Wieling. She married Joseph Carl Schaufenbuel on Sept. 7, 1938, at Our Lady of Seven Dolars Catholic Church, Festina. He died Sept. 4, 1978.

Mrs. Schaufenbuel and her husband farmed in the St. Lucas and Lawler areas.

Survivors include a daughter, Gladys (Robert) Mitchell of Northfield, Minn.; two sons, Lloyd (Barb) of Solon and Ken (Linda) of Lawler; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph (Magdalen) Wieling of New Hampton; a sister, Anna (Don) Janechek of Calmar; and a brother-in-law, Hugo Hackman of Fort Atkinson.

Preceded in death by four sisters; Hilda Hlubek, Irene Menne, Agnes Winter and Mildred Hackman; and a brother, Gust Wieling.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Carmel Cemetery, both in Lawler. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home, Lawler, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary, a 6 p.m. Scripture service and a 6:30 p.m. video memorial tribute.
