Evelyn F. Browning, age 64, of New Hampton, IA died Sunday, April 10, 2011 at New Hampton Care Center.

Evelyn Frieda Browning was born on March 7, 1947 to Harry and Frieda (Wickman) Buhre in New Hampton. She graduated from New Hampton High School in 1965. Evelyn learned to dance at the Arthur Murray Dance School in Waterloo and later became an instructor for Arthur Murray Dance Studios in Waterloo, Des Moines, and Lincoln, NB.

On June 17, 1973, Evelyn was united in marriage to Darrel Browning at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hampton. After their marriage Evelyn continued her career as a dance instructor for Graceland Dance Studio in Des Moines. In 1977 the couple moved to New Hampton where she was employed at Tri Mark and later sold Avon. Evelyn enjoyed shopping, collecting, dancing and farming. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Evelyn is survived by her loving husband, Darrel of New Hampton; her brother, Harry Buhre and his friend, Sandra Oldenburger of New Hampton; her mother-in-law, Louise Browning of Boone, IA; and her nieces, Christine (Steve) Butler of Oregon, Angela Harper of Williams, IA and Michelle Roby of Boone, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister-in-law, Karolyn Roby.

Burial will follow in New Hampton Cemetery at New Hampton.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home in New Hampton, and will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Funeral services for Evelyn will be 10:30 am Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hampton, IA with Rev. Kevin Frey officiating.
