Lucille E. Schluetter, age 91, of New Hampton, IA, formerly of North Washington, passed away on Sunday June 12, 2011 at New Hampton Care Center in New Hampton.

Lucille Elizabeth Schluetter was born on July 6, 1919 to Edward and Amelia (Radamacher) Gardner on the family farm near North Washington. Lucille attended and graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School in 1937. She was employed as a waitress in Charles City for several years.

She was united in marriage to John Schluetter at Immaculate Conception Church in North Washington. The couple made their home in North Washington until 1991 when Lucille moved to New Hampton. She worked for Tri-Mark in New Hampton until her retirement. Lucille enjoyed quilting, music, playing the organ, dancing and playing cards. She was a lifetime member of Immaculate Conception Church, as well as a member of Immaculate Conception Rosary Society.

Lucille is survived by her children, Carol (Ray) Panoch of New Hampton, Robert Schluetter of New Hampton and Lola Palmersheim of Omaha, NB; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, John; one daughter, Doris; one son, Ivan; three sisters, Lenora Roths, Myrtle Baltes and Merita Ketterman.

Memorials may be directed to Iowa Hospice.

Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery at North Washington.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 with 4:30pm Rosary and a 5:30pm scriptural wake service at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in New Hampton. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the mass on Thursday.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Church in North Washington with Father Mark Osterhaus celebrating the mass.
