NASHUA - Eleanor Dorothy Rosonke Haldeman, 76, of New Hampton, died Sunday, April 26, 2009, at New Hampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Oct. 17, 1932, in Nashua, daughter of Howard and Anna Jenn Carpenter. On April 10, 1951, she married Donald Rosonke Sr. He died March 10, 1987. She later married Kenneth Haldeman on May 16, 1988. He died May 20, 2007.

Mrs. Haldeman was a 1950 graduate of New Hampton High School. She and her husband farmed near New Hampton. She also provided care and assistance to the elderly in their homes.

Survived by five daughters, Dee Dee "Patricia" (Dennis) Collins and Debbie (John) Reicherts, both of New Hampton, Diane (Dave) Norton of Cedar Rapids, Barb (Tim) Hyke of Cresco and Terrie (Dewey) Rethamel of Center Point; four sons, Bob Rosonke of New Hampton, Mark (Sue Ott) Rosonke of Lawler, Don Rosonke Jr. of Queen Creek, Ariz., and Gary (Renee Lenehan) Rosonke of New Hampton; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bernice Flick of Ionia and Marlys Baldwin of Charles City; and two brothers, Herb (Alice) Carpenter of New Hampton and Jerome Carpenter of Ionia.

Preceded in death by a grandson; and a brother, Russell Carpenter.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Parish-St. Mary's Center, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, both in New Hampton. Public visitation from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home, New Hampton, with a 6:30 p.m. Scripture service. Visitation also 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
