Obituary for Lori J. Litchfield--

Lori J. Litchfield, age 52 of Charles City, died Monday, September 9, 2013, at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City of natural causes.

Funeral services will be will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 13, 2013, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Nashua with Msgr. Carl Schmitt celebrating the mass.

Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Charles City with Lonnie Litchfield, Kevin Litchfield, Mark Litchfield, Doug Bacheldor, Ann Freiberg, Tammie Ogden, Norma Raab, and Dorothy Vandeventer serving as pallbearers.

Friends may greet the family 4:00p.m. – 7:00p.m. Thursday September 12, 2013, at the Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home Olson Chapel in Nashua. Where there will be a 6:00p.m. scripture service. Visitation continues from 9:30a.m. – 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the mass.

Lori Jo Litchfield was born May 4, 1961, in Charles City, Iowa, the daughter of George and Joan (Jensen) Litchfield. Lori attended school in Charles City, along with Nashua and graduated from Nashua High School in 1979. While attending school she participated in marching band, and was a member from 7th to 12th grade. She competed in competitions held around the state of Iowa, and even Nashville, Tennessee.

She was also a participant in cross-county, where she was very successful winning district meets and even competing at the state level. She was in track with the mile being her favorite event. She was all conference, and participated in district meets. She held the mile record for over ten years at Nashua High School.

Lori worked at comprehensive systems in Charles City for eight years. She enjoyed being around and working with the kids.

Lori is survived by her mother, Joan Litchfield of Charles City, Iowa; father, George Litchfield of Randall, Iowa; two sisters, Cindy (Jeff) Green of Nampa, Idaho, Deanna (Doug) Bacheldor of Greene, Iowa; four brothers, Lonnie (Peg) Litchfield of Washington, Iowa, Kevin (Ruth) Litchfield of Boone, Iowa, Mark Litchfield of Des Moines, Iowa, Mike (Kathy) Litchfield of Hilton Head Island, SC; seven nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents C.F. and Lucille Litchfield, Carl and Mary Jensen, along with aunts, uncles, and cousins.
