LAWLER - Bernice Lois Decker, 65, of Lawler, died Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at New Hampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, New Hampton.

She was born Jan. 4, 1944, in Waukon, daughter of William and Delores Kruger Van Horn. She married Gary L. Decker on July 21, 1962, in Waukon.

She graduated from high school in Waukon in 1962 and then attended beauty school in Waterloo. She was a beautician in Lawler for 40 years and also drove a bus for the Turkey Valley School for 38 years.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a charter member of the Lawler Lions Club.

Survived by her husband; three daughters, Denice Decker of Belle Plaine, Lori (Bradley) Brown of Nevada and Patty (Chris) Rigel of Lawler; four grandchildren; her father, William Van Horn of Fayette; two brothers, Neal (Nancy) Van Horn of Wadena and Kevin (Christine) Van Horn of Spillville; and two sisters, Cheryl (Bill) Moran of Waverly, Tenn., and Karen (Joe) Hermann of State Center.

Preceded in death by her mother; and a sister-in-law, Judy Van Horn.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hampton, with burial in the New Hampton City Cemetery. Public visitation from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home, New Hampton, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.
