Katherine E. Kuennen, age 91 of Lawler, died peacefully, Saturday evening, January 21, 2006, at her home in Lawler.
Katherine was born September 26, 1914, the daughter of Will and Elizabeth (Drilling) Lusson. She was born on the family farm near St. Lucas, Iowa. On March 1, 1938, at St. Luke's Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Conrad J. Kuennen. To this union eleven children were born. Conrad died December 20, 1971.
Katherine is survived by three sons: Roger Kuennen of Waterloo, Steve (Joyce) Kuennen of Waucoma and Tom Kuennen of Oronoco, MN. Eight daughters: Germaine (Roger) Langreck of St. Lucas, Gerie (Gary) Schulte of Cuba City, WI, Faith Kuennen of Glenwood, IA, Kay (Gary) Roberson of Bettendorf, Susie (Neal Sr.) Stone of Lawler, Pauline (Jim) Cox of Galena, IL, Jackie Stone of New Hampton and Lisa (Harold) Busta of Lawler. Twenty-four grandchildren: Jeff Langreck, Kim Lensing, Mike Kuennen, Shellie Goldammer, Wanda Simms, Kerri Langreck, Tim Langreck, Catari Leifker, Jon Langreck, Curt Timlin, Jennifer Barrick, Sara Van Houten, Nicole Prichard, Mark Kuennen, Erin Mills, Regan Stone, Jade Stone, Neal Stone Jr., Jessica Cox, Jennison Cox, Shaina Stone, Lacey Busta, Kirsten Busta and Mindy McAllister. Thirty-three great-grandchildren. Two sisters: Florence Bodensteiner of West Union and Vera Kuennen of Lawler. One sister-in-law, Clotiel Kuennen of St. Lucas.
She was preceded in death by her husband Conrad, her parents and a daughter-in-law, Laurie Kuennen. Two brothers: Ed Lusson and Herbert Lusson. Three sisters: Lorraine Baldwin, Eleanor Franzen and Victoria Jones. A sister-in-law, Rose Lusson. Two brothers-in-law: Francis Baldwin and Edward Franzen.
