OBITUARY

Mrs. Edith L Dietz was born in Kossuth County, Iowa, July 1, 1884, and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Vohsman near Plainfield, on Thursday, July 2, 1953. She was the daughter of Albertus and Leila Masten. She was 69 years of age, having celebrated her birthday the day before her death.

She left Kossuth County at the age of 11 years, coming to Bremer County to make her home with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. John Lampson. The remainder of her life was spent in Bremer County.

On October 23, 1901, she was united in marriage with George Dietz. To this union 10 children were born. Her husband preceded her in death three years ago. Two children, George and Emma also preceded her in death.

She leaves to mourn her passing the following children: Alvin of Nashua; Mrs. Effie Conklin of Plainfield; Mrs. Martha Wagner of Cedar Falls; Mrs. Mildred Caswell of Ionia; Eleanor of Waverly; Charles, and Mrs. Edith Voshman.
There are also 36 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Effie Irwin of Monroe, Michigan, one brother, Leslie D. Masten of Azalia, Arizona, and many nieces as well as other relatives and friends. Mrs. Dietz was a kind and loving mother and was loved by all who knew her.

Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church, Nashua, at 2:00 O’clock Monday afternoon July 6 with Rev. James Bird officiating, assisted by Rev. F. L Hansen. Burial was in the Greenwood cemetery.
