Clifford Ohm, 63, of Lawler, died Wednesday, June 19, at the Saint Joseph Community Hospital in New Hampton from a heart attack.

Funeral services were held Sunday, June 23, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hampton, with Rev. Bernard Oebser officiating. Interment was in Graceland Cemetery, New Hampton, with pallbearers Alvin Smith, Fort Atkinson, Cliff Bouska, Waucoma, Laverne Ohm, New Hampton, Clarence Mueterthies, Lawler, and Leon Carlson and Harley Wendt of Fredericksburg. Honorary pall bearers were Cliff Snider, Carl Roths, Oliver Cochran, Frank Meighan, Merle Bieber, Gary Decker, Ed Novak, Jim Fox, Melvin Branstad, Dan Bouska and Robert Goettelman.

The Larken-Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements which included a wake Saturday, June 22 from 4 to 9 pm and Sunday, June 23, from 9 to 11 am.

Clifford Ohm was born December 17, 1921, in rural Lawler, the son of Albert and Anna Ohm. He attended rural schools in Chickasaw County and served in the US Army in the Pacific Ocean from 1942 until 1946.

On June 19, 1947, he married Bernice Schmitt at St Joseph's Church in New Hampton. The couple lived in New Hampton for a short time before moving to Lawler. He owned his own business until about five years ago and has been semi-retired since then.

Survivors include his wife, one son, Kevin of Rochester, Minnesota, two grandchildren, Curtis and Christopher, his mother, Anna Ohm who is a resident of Sunrise Guest Home, Fredericksburg and one brother, Robert of Lawler.

He is preceded in death by his father and three brothers, Harry, Erwin and Clarence.
