Albert Carlson

Funeral services were held on Monday, January 18, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Boyd for Albert Carlson, 92, retired Fredericksburg farmer who died Thursday, Jan 14, at St Joseph Hospital in New Hampton. Rev. Bruce Hobert officiated at the services and interment was in the church cemetery. Conway Funeral Home of New Hampton was in charge of the arrangements.

The organist was Eva Duneman and the pallbearers were Robert Downes, Galen Duneman, Robert Wendland, Robert, Clifford and Clarence Ohm.

Carl Albert Carlson was born August 30, 1889, at Jefferson Park, Illinois, the son of Charles and Hilda Carlson. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Church of Boyd. On October 27, 1917, he was united in marriage with Martha Marie Maier at Marion. Following their marriage, they lived and farmed in the Boyd area.

He served on the Dresden No 2 School District Board for 35 years.

Mrs. Carlson died October 14, 1979. Mr. Carlson had been a resident of Health Care Manor in New Hampton for the past three years.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Leon and Florence Carlson of Fredericksburg; one granddaughter, Mrs. Jesse (Mary Ellen) Wright of Cedar Rapids; two great-grandsons, David and Adam Wright of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Dewey of Marion and Ralph of Kansas City; three sisters, Mary Carlson and Mabel Rienecke of Marion and Ruby Hooks of Chicago; and one niece and numerous nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers, Gus and John; and two sisters, Laura Soblem and Signe Carlson.
