Mrs Albert Carlson, 80, of Fredericksburg died Sunday, October 14, at the Health Care Manor in New Hampton.

Martha Marie Magdaline Maier Carlson was born February 14, 1899 in Chickasaw County, the daughter of Carl and Ulbrenke (Frederich) Maier.

She attended rural school and St John's Church School and was confirmed at St John's in Boyd on May 16, 1916.

She was married to Albert Carlson on Oct 27, 1917, in Marion, Iowa.

She was a member of St John's Lutheran church of Boyd and a member of the ALCW.

Survivors include her husband, Albert of the Health Care Manor; one son and daughter-in-law, Leon and Florence Carlson of Fredericksburg; one granddaughter, Mrs Jesse (Mary Ellen) Wright of Cedar Rapids; and two great-grandsons, David and Adam Wright of Cedar Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Albert; and three sisters, Marie Foote, Elizabeth Peterson and Minna Zipse.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct 16, at 2:30 pm at St John's Lutheran Church in Boyd with Rev. Bruce Hobart officiating. Interment was in the Boyd Cemetery.

Mrs Galen Duneman was the organist and accompanied Jack Kendall as he sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Just a Closer Walk With Thee." The congregation also sang "He Leadeth Me."

The pallbearers were Robert Downes, Edwin Rienecke, Donald Carlson, and Clifford, Robert and Clarence Ohm.

Mrs. Robert Wendland and Mrs. Martin Weidler were in charge of the flowers.
