Aged Lady Laid At Rest Tuesday

Mrs. Bertha Pankonin Passed Away At County Home Monday Morning, Funeral Held Yesterday Afternoon.

Mrs Bertha Pankonin, age 86 years, died Monday morning, September 22, 1924 at the Chickasaw County Home. Cause of her death was gangrene with which she suffered for three weeks.

The deceased was born in Germany, April 11, 1838 and like many of her sturdy race came to America so that her posterity might enjoy freedom and liberty and property, the opportunities which are so good for those who love a home and respect the same.

Mrs. Pankonin leaves to mourn her death, three sons, Fred, Emil, and Karl Pankonin. Two daughters, Mrs. Albert Drewelow and Mrs Henry Hartman, and other relatives and friends.

To all of these we extend sympathy in this time of their sorrow.

The remains of Mrs Pankonin were taken to the Vroman undertaking parlors from where the funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock to the Congregational church.

Rev. W. D. Spiker had charge of the services and burial was made in Graceland Cemetery.
