John Andrew Hovenburgh was Van Hoevenburgh b.Woodstock, Ulster Co., New York 12 Aug 1830 to Rudolph and Margaret Akert Van Hoevenbergh. Twin sister Catherine Caroline (Hoevenberg) France.
Married Mary Ann Ackert 24 Jan 1867 Whiteside Co., ILL. Mary's parents were Edward Ackert and Sarah Carle all of Ulster Co., New York.
Mary's brothers Abram and Edmund came West. Abram married in Whiteside Co., Ill. 1880 census Edmund lived with the Hovenburg's in Iowa. Mary's uncle William Carle was also in the census.
John and Mary Hovenburg children were Alice Farr-have her family line. Son Burton I got info from Iowa on his family. Son Clinton found in Black Hawk Co. Iowa at a cemetery. Have no info on him or his family. Mary Hovenburg d. 19 Jun 1932. Either in Buena Vista Co. or Des Moines. Looking for her obit. Buried in Buena Vista Co with John.
