CRIPPEN, BULL, BRUCE, SWISHER

My grandparents Ray W. Bruce and Harriet (Faye) Crippen were born in Cherokee county abt 1885. I am seeking information about their parents: William C. Bruce/Jennie (Jane?) Hartley and Thomas Theodore Crippen/Martha Conklin. Swisher girls married into the Crippen family. I have NO information on the Bull/Bruce line backward. I have information on the Crippen line back to 1122, but the trail forward ends in Cherokee. I have no information on William Bruce after he left Cherokee. I have the information from the histories of Cherokee County, Iowa 1889 and 1914(I am in possession of the 1914 book). I would gladly share my research going backward for any nuggets of information which will lead me forward. Too, if there are sources of anecdotal/biographical information, these would be of great interest. (My project is for my grandson and any stories will make it more interesting.) Are there histories of Cherokee regarding agriculture, business, etc. that are available? I am more than willing to share any info that I have that would help anyone else.
