Stroke of Paralysis Ends Life Of An Aged

Citizen

Joseph Miles, who has been a resi-
dent of Cherokee some thirty-five years,
died very suddenly at his home on
Tuesday evening. He had been in ap-
parently good health and on Monday
morning was stricken with paralysis
while sitting in a chair dressing his
feet. Death ensued at 7:30 Tuesday
evening, thirty-six hours after he was
stricken.
The deceased was a native of York
stat and was 71 years of age April 28,
He has resided here and at Fonda for
over thirty-five years. Besides his wife,
who has shared his joys and sorrows
more than fifty years, he leaves three
sons and six daughters. These are
Mrs. W. E. Kennedy of Chicago, Mrs.
E. A. Ogden of Des Moines, Mrs. F. T.
Tuttle of Leeds, Mrs. G. H. Thompson
of Custer, S. D., Mrs. W. A. Yarrington
of Cherokee, Miss Jessie and Z. A.
Miles, who are at home, and Sydney
Miles, who is somewhere in the west,
his present residence being unknown.
The funeral will occur at 2 o'clock
tomorrow from the late residence. ser-
vices being conducted by Rev. Frank
