Earl P. Kludas, 82, died Tuesday at Tompkins Memorial Center in Fort Dodge following a six-month illness. He had been a resident of Friendship Haven since December 1978 and prior to that had lived on a farm in Afton Township, Cherokee County.

Services will be Friday at the Boothby Funeral Home, Cherokee. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Cherokee.

Mr. Kludas was born Nov. 19, 1903 in Cherokee County. He graduated from Wilson High School in 1921. On March 17, 1926, he married Ruby J. Whiting in Cherokee County. He farmed many years and did carpentry and electrical work. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Cherokee, and was an active member of Friendship Haven Writing Club and the men’s garden club of Fort Dodge.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Donna) Lundy, Zearing, and Mrs. John (Evonne) English, Baldwin, Kan.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
