Perley E. Leonard, 82, died Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in Cherokee after a short illness. He had made his home at 209 West Locust. Since retiring March 1, 1927 from farming in Silver Township he had lived in Cherokee. The son of Charles and Carrie Lickiss Leonard, he was born Dec. 27, 1884 in Silver Township.

He is survived by one son, Floyd L. Leonard of San Francisco, Calif. A brother, Don Leonard of Long Beach, Calif., and a sister, Miss Evelyn Leonard of Fort Dodge, also survive.

He was preceded in death by an infant son and his wife Minnie who died June 14, 1927.

Funeral services will be satruday from Boothby Funeral Home. Burial is to be in Silver Cemetery.
