Le Nora Neal Lewis, daughter of William A. and Emily Minor Neal, was born in Adair County, Ia., Oct. 13, 1878 and died in Cherokee, Ia., Dec. 18, 1964 at the age of 86 years, two months and five days.

Mrs. Lewis was from a family of 12 children, 11 of whom have preceded her in death.

For a time, as a baby, she lived with her parents in Nebraska. Later they moved back to Iowa, settling in the Porterville area which later was named Akron, Ia. She grew to womanhood in the area, receiving her education in rural public schools and later was married there.

Here husband preceded her in death 40 years ago and since his death, she has been employed in Cherokee until her retirement a few years ago.

She became a baptized member of Church of Christ on Feb. 9, 1947 when Brother Noah Hall was minister.

She is survived by a brother, Victor Neal of Akron; numerous nieces and nephews, mostly in California.

Funeral services were held Dec. 19 from Central Church of Christ with Elbert K. Newland officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery at Akron under direction of Boothby Funeral Home.
