Frederick Henry Jensen, 48, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Monday, March 17, 1997 at his home after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 20, at the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia, Iowa with Pastor Henrietta Klarenbeck officiating.

Mr. Jensen was born October 1, 1948, near Cherokee to David H. and Dolores (Tveitnes) Jensen. He attended school in Aurelia. He had been employed at Frahm’s Standard in Cherokee, Texaco in Aurelia, John Deere in Cherokee, and was a truck driver for IBP and Bob Davis in Emporia, Kansas. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia, and enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking, tropical fish, Country Western music and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Diane, Cherokee; two daughters: Theresa and her husband Matthew Mitchell, Larrabee; and Tami and her husband Peter Loucks, Cherokee; six grandchildren: LaToshia, Cassidy, Mariah, Scott, Justin, and Brian; his parents: David H. and Dolores Jensen, Washta, Iowa; four sisters: Sandra and her husband Delbert Persoon, Storm Lake, Iowa; Ivana Woodard-Lewis and Glenn, Modale, Iowa; Jerrilyn and her husband Dick Knapp, Quimby, Iowa; and Judy Robinson, Lansing, Michigan; five brothers: Russ Woodard, Omaha, Nebraska; Terry Jensen, Salina, Kansas; Jerry Jensen and his wife Wanda, Sutherland, Iowa; Dan Jensen and his wife Charmaine, Le Mars, Iowa; and Dave Jensen, Reading, Kansas; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Jensen.
