Wayne E. Moses, 85, of Fort Dodge died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003 at Tompkins Memorial Health Center. The body was cremated. Memorial services are Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003 in the chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with William Trembly officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Wayne Moses was born Aug. 17, 1917 at Otho, Iowa. As a child he moved with his family to Cherokee where he graduated from Cherokee high school. On Oct. 23, 1937 he was united in marriage to Moneta Wedge in Cherokee and they established their home there. In 1957 they moved to Fort Dodge. He was employed for the Illinois Central Railroad for 35 years until his retirement in 1976. In 1979 they moved to Park View Homes in Otho where he was Maintenance manager until 1998 when he became a resident of Friendship Haven.

He was a charter member of the Eagles in Cherokee and Fort Dodge, member of the Otho United Methodist church and the Railroad retirement Association. He loved playing bingo and spending time with family.

Surviving are daughters: Nancy Peterson, Daneta Page and husband William, all of Fort Dodge; Marsha Schall of Gilmore City, 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; sister: Illene Nelson of Lemars

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Emma Blackford Moses; his wife, Moneta on Feb. 17, 1992; one son, four grandchildren, one brother and five sisters. (Source: Former Cherokee County Historical Society scrapbook. Clipping hand dated 2-5-2003)
