Memorial services for Raymond E. C. Menke, Sr., 54, will be at 11 a.m. today at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Cherokee.

Elder Glen Ford will officiate. Burial will be in the Calumet Cemetery at a later date. Mr. Menke’s body was cremated.

Mr. Menke died Monday at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Sioux City, following a four-month illness. He had been a resident of Country Side Estates, Cherokee.

He was born Jan. 18, 1930, in Cherokee County to Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Menke. N Sept. 9, 1949, he married Evelyn Mae Rogers in Jeffersonville, Ind. He worked in Virginia for many years as a sewage treatment plant operator. He was past secretary and president of the AFSCME Union in Virginia.

Survivors include his wife Evelyn of Woodbridge, Va.; two sons, Raymond E.C. Menke Jr., Alexandria, Va., and Kenneth Menke, Woodbridge, Va.; his mother, Mrs. Marie Menke, Cherokee; one sister, Mrs. Lois Ceder, Cherokee and one grand-daughter.
