Mrs. Lois V. Jenness, 80, of Quimby, Iowa passed away Wednesday, May 18th at 6:15 a.m. in the Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital in Cherokee following a 2-month illness.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 21st, at 11 a.m. from the Quimby United Methodist Church. Rev. John Scherb will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Cherokee, Iowa. There will be a family prayer service at 10:45 a.m. at the Church on Saturday. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3 till 9 p.m. and on Friday from 9 a.m. till 9 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee.

She was born November 22, 1913 in Tilden Township, Cherokee County, Iowa, the daughter of Harry A. and Esther O. Brownmiller Smith. She graduated from Grand Meadow High School. She was married to John Dale Jenness on February 10, 1934, in Cherokee, Iowa. Her home was on a farm east of Quimby. She had lived in the Quimby area since 1940. She was a member of the Quimby United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, was a correspondent for the Cherokee Daily Times reporting the Silver Township News. She was a former member of the Rebekah Lodge, a member of the Cher-i-Me Club, a member and former secretary of the Sioux Valley Scampers of the Good Sam R.V. Club and the Family Coachman R. V. Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Scott Leslie, a granddaughter Michelle Leslie, and 4 brothers.

She is survived by her husband John Dale Jenness, one son and two daughters: Jim Jenness of Holstein, Iowa; Patricia J. Leslie and her husband Jerry L. of Omaha, Neb.; Marcella Keys and her husband Jack of Texas. 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, 1 sister: Mrs. Frances Robinson of Sioux City, Iowa; 1 sister-in-law: Mrs. Lucille Smith of Enumclaw, Washington.
