Edna M. Conley, 86, of Cherokee, died Tuesday morning, April 25th, 2000, at the home of her son in Des Moines due to an apparent heart condition.

Memorial services will be held Monday, May 8th at 11 a.m. from the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Rev. Gary Armstrong will officiate. There will be a family prayer service at 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home on Monday. Burial of the cremains will be in the Cherokee Memory Gardens.

She was born January 11, 1914 at Rock Rapids, Iowa to Albert and Inga (Blum) Baustain. She graduated from high school in Rock Rapids. She was married to Orville J. Conley on March 31, 1935, at Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She and her husband had lived in Cherokee since the 1930’s. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, the Charity Church Circle and the Sewing Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on August 3, 1976, two infant grandsons, two brothers Donald Baustain and Wayne “Buster” Baustain; two sisters Cecil Gaston and Arlene Van Gelder.

She is survived by 2 daughters and 1 son: Charlene Lovell and her husband Don of Henderson, Nevada; Barbara Sharp and her husband Jean of Mayer, Arizona; Alan Conley of Des Moines, Iowa; 3 grandchildren: Michael Lovell of Davenport; Natalie Nelson of Buckeye, Arizona; Deborah Williams of Rialto, California; 3 sisters: Neva Vogel and her husband Everett of Rock Rapids; Carolyn Stoup and her husband Dale of Rock Rapids, and Frances Dennis of San Gabriel of California.
