Charles A. Pfalzgraf, Sr., 76, 812 West Cedar, Cherokee, died Thursday, July 13 at Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.

He was born July 21, 1895 in Silver Township to Charles A. and Mary Sorensen Pfalzgraf. He was married to Amanda Sorensen July 31, 1915 at St. Anthony, Idaho. Prior to moving to Cherokee in 1952, he farmed all his life in Silver Township north of Holstein.

Pfalzgraf was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He had been a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church when he lived near Holstein.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Charles, Jr., of Alta, Virgil of Holstein and Laverne, Rosemont, Minn.; three daughters, Mrs. James (Mildred) Lindsay, Walnut Creek, Calif.; Mrs. Eldred (Gladys) Keller, Crystal, Minn.; Mrs. Egon (Shirley) Hanson of Aurelia; 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mrs. Phillip Fell, Sr.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 o’clock at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Rev. Kenneth Hilt of Marcus will officiate and burial will be in Holstein Cemetery. Greenwood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (Source: Scrapbook contribution dated 7-14-1972)
