Gerald (Jerry) E. Reed, 55, of Alma, Mich. died Monday, July 22 after a short illness.

He was born April 15, 1936, in Cushing to Roy and Opal (Hahn) Reed. He graduated from Washington High School in 1954 and worked for the Gamble’s store for many years as an auditor. Later, he was an insurance representative for USDA. He was discharged from the Army in 1960. He was married to Jean Nelson June 26, 1961, in Cherokee.

He is survived by his wife, Jean; his daughter, Janet Middlebrook of Alma, Michigan; his mother, Opal Reed of Cherokee. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy, on Dec. 21, 1982.

Memorial services will be held for Gerold (Jerry) E. Reed, 55, of Alma, Michigan on Thursday, Aug 1 at First Baptist Church, 118 E. Willow St., Cherokee at 2 PM.
