DIED
SEGLER - At the home of his brother-in-law in Rock township, Friday, December 19, 1890, Mr. William M. Segler, aged 26 years and 8 months.

Deceased was born in Iowa City in April 1864, and came to Cherokee county in 1879, and has ever since made his home with his brother-in-law Mr. Henry Woltman. His sister, Mrs. Woltman, is the only relative he has in this part of the state. He was a young man of genial disposition, social nature and commanding appearance. He stood 6 feet, 4 inches high, had large frame, broad shoulders and was considered one of the most powerful men, physically, in Rock township. He was respected and loved by all who knew him.

Two weeks ago, he was seized with that terrible disease, inflammation of the bowels, and after a short struggle, the strong man was forced to succumb to the grim monster death. Funeral services were held in the Tilden school house on Sunday, after which, all that was mortal of William Segler was laid to rest in Tilden cemetery.
