Alice Ann Julius, 67, of Cherokee died Saturday, March 2, 2022, at Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital in Cherokee following a brief illness.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, with Elder Mitch Juergens officiating. The body was cremated. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Alice was born May 18, 1934, to John G. and Mabel (Ballantyne) Julius. She graduated from Wilson High School in 1954, in Cherokee.

She married Bernard Eng on Jan. 25, 1957. They were married for five years. She had worked for Woolworth Co. for 13 years, Beals Motor Rewinding for 15 years and Continental Deli for 17 years, retiring in November 2001 due to ill health.

She was a member of Community of Christ in Cherokee. She liked traveling, and her highlight was a cruise to Alaska. She enjoyed helping people. She had been a resident of Cherokee all her life.

She is survived by two brothers and their wives, Dale and Iva Julius of Meriden, Iowa, and Dr. Loy and Anne Julius of Merced, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Ella Danielson, Edna White and Jane Graham, and an infant brother, Richard Julius.
