John G. Julius, 89, died here suddenly Sunday afternoon at his home, 227 West Beech, while working in his yard. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Julius, he was born at Stitzer, Wis.
He had lived in Cherokee County where he farmed since 1910 and for the past 35 years in the city of Cherokee.
On Jan. 25, 1914, he was married to Mabel Ballantyne at Cherokee. He was a member of Cherokee Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Surviving are his wife, Mabel, Cherokee; three daughters, Mrs. Ella Rose Danielson of Dolliver, Ia., Mrs. Edna Mae White, Cherokee and Alice Julius, also of Cherokee; two sons, Col. Loy Julius of Phoenix, Ariz., and Dale of Cherokee; also 22 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Adolph, Charles, Fred and Louie and three sisters, Mrs. Emma Merideth, Mrs. Kate Snell and Mrs. Alta Lockman; and two children, Jane Janice and Richard John.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ, Latter Day Saints. Elder Don Graham will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Greenwood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
