Annie Christina Carlson, daughter of Nels and Christina Jensen, was born on the Isle of Fyen, Denmark, December 9, 1864, and departed this life at her home in Cherokee, February 1, 1940, at the age of 75 years, one month and 22 days.

She came to America at the age of 12 years with her parents and brothers, locating in Cherokee county where she lived until her marriage to Olaf Carlson on February 4, 1885. Soon after their marriage they moved to Forestburg, S. D. There, the three oldest children were born, namely, Avery, Leslie and Harvey. After five years they returned to Cherokee County where the six other children were born: Fern, Hazel, Emmett, Flossie, and Elvie, and a little daughter who passed away on August 7, 1906, at the age of 11 months.
They continued farming until the year 1925 when they moved to Cherokee where they have since resided.

Mrs. Carlson leaves to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and mother, her husband, Olaf Carlson, four sons and four daughters; 14 grandchildren and two great grand-children, 3 half-brothers, several nieces and nephews, besides a large circle of friends by whom she will be greatly missed.
