Mrs. Gottfrid Polson
Mrs. Gottfrid (Julia) Polson, 66, died Monday at 2 p.m. in Cherokee after a long illness. Her home was at 413 Jeffries. She had lived in Cherokee for the past 12 years.
Born June 10, 1901 at Ruthton, Minn., she was married to Gottfrid Polson on April 5, 1923 at Sioux City. The couple farmed in the Liberty Township and Marcus areas.
A member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church she was also a member of Marcus Garden Club.
Survivors include the widower, Gottfrid of Cherokee; three daughters, Miss Margaret Polson of Santa Monica, Calif., Mrs. Robert (Marilyn) Smith of Cherokee, and Mrs. Robert (Janet) Walkup, Cedar Rapids. Two sons: Paul Polson, Cleghorn and Loren of Hartley; and 12 grandchildren. One brother Louis Bly of LeMars and two sisters, Mrs. Kermit Lewis of Sioux Falls and Mrs. Harry Pedersen of Ruthton, Minn., also survive.
Preceding her in death were her parents, one son Dale; a brother and a sister.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday from Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Rev. Walter E. Lack officiating. Burial is to be in Marcus Amherst Cemetery.
