Charles H. Pfalzgraf Jr., 70, died Thursday at his home at 1205 Matthew St., Cherokee, following a lengthy illness. He had been a resident of Cherokee County since 1980.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Alta. The Rev. Henry Kuhn will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Cherokee, under direction of the Greenwood Funeral Home, Cherokee.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. There will be a family prayer service at 10:45 a.m. Monday at the church.

Mr. Pfalzgraf was born Feb 17, 1916, in Holstein to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pfalzgraf Sr. On Feb 10, 1952, he married Irene King at Pierce, Neb.

He previously farmed in Maple Valley Township, Alta. He was a farmer all his life except for 13 years as a car salesman in Cherokee. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Alta.

Survivors include: his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Gary (Barbara) Henry of Sioux City and Mrs. Paul (Nyla) Lux of Cherokee; his mother, Amanda Pfalzgraf of Aurelia; three sisters, Gladys Keller of Mesa, Ariz., Mrs. Jim (Mildred) Lindsay of Nevada City, Calif and Mrs. Egon (Shirley) Hanson of Aurelia; two brothers, Virgil Pfalzgraf of Holstein and LaVere Pfalzgraf of Minneapolis, Minn.; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Pfalzgraf.
