Dale Willbrandt, 72, of Seneca, South Carolina, died Thursday, August 25, 1994 at Anderson Memorial Medical Center.

He retired from the Office of the Secretary of Defense in 1976. He also served as Director of the Manpower Management Information Division and was awarded the Secretary of Defense Meritorious Civilian Service Medal. His civilian service management career also included positions within the Department of the Navy, Chief of Naval Operations, Ordinanace Comptroller, and the Anti-Submarine Warfare Systems Project. Mr. Willbrandt was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Seneca Presbyterian Church. He was an Elder in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and was also an active supporter of Habitat for Humanity.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara Catts Willbrandt; daughter, Susan D. Brown of Jacksonville, Fla.; son Roger S. Willbrandt of Port Charlotte, Fla.; sister, Marjorie Glassmaker of Cherokee, Iowa; brothers, Edwin Willbrandt and Lowell Willbrandt, both of Cherokee, Iowa; and four grandsons.

Memorial services were Monday, August 29, 1994, at Seneca Presbyterian Church.

Memorials may be made to Seneca Presbyterian Church or Oconee County Habitat for Humanity, Box 685, Seneca, SC 29679.
