William G. Wilkie, 40, of Larrabee, died Wednesday, June 17, 1992 in the Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital, Cherokee, following a lengthy illness.
Services will be held today at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Cherokee. Rev. Gene Sitzmann and Rev. Ray Kruger will officiate. Burial will be in the Cedar Township Cemetery, rural Larrabee.
He was born Jan. 3, 1952 in Cherokee to George and Patricia (Campbell) Wilkie. He graduated from Washington High School in Cherokee in 1970. On Feb 10, 1974 he married Carol Green in Cherokee.
He worked at Wilson Foods Inc. in Cherokee for 15 years before retiring for health reasons in 1984. He enjoyed all outdoor sporting activities and had been a member of Ducks Unlimited for many years. He had been a resident of Cherokee County his entire life.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; two sons, Curtis and Kyle, both of Larrabee; his parents, George and Pat Wilkie of Larrabee; his grandmother, Mrs. Mary Campbell, of Cherokee; and his mother-in-law, Mrs. Esther Wolfe, and her husband, Dale, of Cherokee.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred (Jan 20, 1974 and Tom (Jan 5, 1977) and his father-in-law, Vernon Green, in April of 1982.
