Mrs. Lillian May Wilkie, 76, died Sunday in the Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. from the Boothby Funeral Home. Rev. Gordon Elrick will officiate and burial will be in the Cedar Cemetery at Larrabee. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday. There will be a D.A.R. memorial service at 7 p.m. today at the Boothby Funeral Home.

She was born June 24, 1913 in Afton Township in Cherokee County to LeRoy and Clara May Scott Smith. She graduated from Meriden High School in 1931. She attended Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls and Morningside College in Sioux City after which she pursued a teaching profession until her marriage.

She was married to Clarence Roy Wilkie on Feb. 27, 1945 in Cherokee. Her home was on a farm in Cedar township and she had been a resident of the Larrabee area most of her life.

She had worked as a seamstress for Hope's Fashion Farm and Linda's Sewing Room. She was a 50 year member of the Larrabee United Methodist Church, a member of the D.A.R. and the D.A.C., the Cherokee Retired Teachers Association, the Cherokee County Historical Society, the Larrabee Leisure Club, and the Rebekah Lodge.

She is survived by one son, Scott Wilkie, Cherokee; one daughter, Mrs. John (Dianne) Gordon, Cherokee, and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and two sisters.
