KINGWOOD, TEXAS - Donald G. Woods, 39, of Kingwood, Texas, and a former resident of Cherokee, died suddenly Thursday, July 5, 1990.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 9, 1990, in Humble, Texas at Rosewood Chapel. Burial was at Rosewood Memorial park.

Woods was born July 27, 1950 in Omaha, Neb. to Doyle and Joyce Woods. He graduated from Washington High School in 1968 and was active in track, football and dramatics. Woods attended the University of South Dakota in Vermillion and was employed as an executive chef in restaurants and clubs in South Carolina and Texas.

Survivors include his mother, Joyce of Cherokee; father Doyle, of Sun City, Ariz.; wife, Ann Marie, of Kingwood, Texas; sons Eric Winterhof, a student at Iowa State University in Ames and resident of Aurelia, and David Slayton, of Kingwood, Texas.

Other survivors are his grandmothers, Loraine Stonebrook of Cherokee and Viola Woods of Dunedin, Fla.; a brother, David Woods of Reno, Nev.; and a sister, Diane Julius of Storm Lake.
