Leonard D. Waters, 58, of Chula Vista, Calif., died suddenly of an apparent heart attack Sunday, April 16.

A memorial mass will be said at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred heart Catholic Church, Manilla, and burial will be in Manilla. The Manilla Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Waters was born in Cherokee Dec. 8, 1930 to Frank and Leone Waters. He graduated from Immaculate Conception High School, Cherokee, in 1949. He served in the U.S. Army for two years, seeing service in Germany.

He was a partner in Waters Oil Co., Cherokee, from 1955 to 1974. He had been retired the last few years due to ill health.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Michael of Philadelphia, Pa., and Robert of Shenandoah; three daughters, Mrs. Don (Anne) Mullison of Shenandoah; Mrs. Kevin (Julie) Currie of Monterey, Calif., and Cheri of Omaha, Neb.; two brothers, Mike, Cherokee, and the Rev. Robert Waters of San Diego, Calif.; and one sister, Mary Jane, Cherokee.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

CLARIFICATION ON WATERS SERVICES
The memorial mass for Leonard Waters, 58, of Chula Vista, Calif., will be said at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manilla, Iowa. There is no Manilla in California for those confused as to location of the mass. (Update dated 4-19-1989)
