Services for Neil Wadsley, 78, formerly of Cherokee, will be today at 10:30 a.m. from the Boothby Funeral Home, Cherokee. Don Hensley will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the church today.

Wadsley died Friday, July 28, in the Sunset Knoll Retirement Home in Aurelia following a lingering illness. His home was at 1600 West Fifth St. He had lived in Storm lake the past 15 years and prior to this was long time Cherokee area resident.

He was born Aug. 18, 1910 in Cherokee. He was married to Leota Pelton on July 23, 1967 at Worthington, Minn. He had worked for the Illinois Central Railroad for 23 years, retiring in 1972. After retiring from the railroad, he worked for Lubeck Oil Co. in Cherokee. He was affiliated with the United Methodist Church and was a member of the IOOF Lodge in Cherokee.

He is survived by his wife, Leota and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
