Mrs. Ann R. Witte, 81, of 120 1/2 East Maple St., Cherokee, died Monday, June 6, 1988 at Marian Health Center, in Sioux City, following a two car accident about 7 p.m. Monday in Cherokee.

Services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Cherokee. The Rev. Richard Ries will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

A scripture service will be held tonight at 7:30 and a rosary at 8 by the Catholic Daughters of America at the Greenwood Funeral Home.

Ann Frangenberg was born Jan 11, 1907 in Leonore, Ill., to Mr & Mrs. William Frangenberg. She had been a resident of Cherokee County since 1932. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the V.F.W. Auxiliary, the Woman's Relief Corps and a member of the Degree of Honor. She was a willing volunteer and in 1986 was named Lady of the Year by Beta Sigma Phi.

She is survived by one son, George R. Frangenberg of Norwalk, Calif.; two brothers, Otto Frangenberg, Marcus and Tony Frangenberg, Primghar; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Witte in 1970, her parents, and 11 brothers and sisters.
