Mrs. Carl (Lucille) Wheeler, 75, died Sunday at Country Side Estates, Cherokee, following a brief illness. She had been a resident of Cherokee County since 1941.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Church of Christ, Cherokee. Don Hensley will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Cherokee, under the direction of the Greenwood Funeral Home, Cherokee. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 a.m. at the church on Wednesday.

She was born Aug. 4, 1912 in Melcher to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Logue. On Dec. 13, 1930, she married Carl Wheeler in Knoxville. They moved to Cherokee in 1941. She was a member of the First Church of Christ and was a receptionist at Greenwood Funeral Home for 30 years from 1956 to 1986.

She is preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 25, 1968, and three brothers.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. William (Roberta) Hueser, of George, and Sherry Wheeler, Cherokee; two sons, Charlton and Larry Wheeler, both also of Cherokee; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
