DEATHS - Mrs. Ethel Witcombe; Cherokee Resident
Mrs. Ethel Witcombe, 69, of Cherokee died Tuesday morning in Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She had been a resident of Cherokee the past 50 years and prior to that lived in Quimby.

Ethel Lint was born June 3, 1913, at Quimby. On June 8, 1933, she married John S. Witcombe in Cherokee County. She had worked at the Mental Health Institute in Cherokee and at Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Witcombe was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and UMW Circle, Woman's Relief Corps, Degree of Honor and the Cheerio Club.

Survivors include her husband; sons Howard Witcombe, Aurelia and Donald and Ronald Witcombe, both of Cherokee; seven grandchildren and brothers, Harold Lint, Jud, N.D.; John Lint, Villisca, Iowa; and Charles Lint, Cody, Wyo.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church. The Rev. Bob Davis will officiate. Burial will be in the Quimby Cemetery under the direction of the Boothby Funeral Home, Cherokee.
