MILTON "Penny" ZEINER (1905 - 1991)

Milton (Penny) Zeiner, 86, of 430 Euclid Ave., Cherokee, died Saturday, Aug 31 at Country Side Estates following a brief illness. He had been a resident of Cherokee County nearly his entire life.

Services will be held at 2 pm today at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Cherokee. Rev. Ray Kruger will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Cherokee. Graveside military rites will be conducted by L.A. Wescott Post #2253 of the V.F.W.

He was born June 24, 1905 in Elma, Iowa to Joseph and Flora Block Zeiner. They moved to Cherokee in 1909. Penny attended Cherokee Schools and later worked at his father's clothing store. He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of the VFW.

On March 23, 1955 he married Mattie Lou McCormack in Richmond, Kentucky. They lived in Cherokee for many years where he was involved with farm management.

Survivors include his wife; and one step-daughter, Sally Birge of Pasadena, Calif.
