Mrs. Duane (Dawn M. Mahler) Yates, 30, Sioux City, died Friday, Aug 10, 1990 at the University Hospital in Minneapolis, Minn. after a long illness.

Services will be at 1 pm Wednesday at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Leeds. Rev. Gerald Kapanka of the Calvary Lutheran Church will officiate. Visitation at the Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel in Sioux City will be today from 3-9 pm with the family present from 6:30 to 9 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm.

She was born Aug 17, 1959 in Cherokee to Richard and Delores Mahler. She married Duane Yates May 11, 1985 in Cherokee.

She was a 1977 graduate of the Willow Community High School in Quimby and a 1982 graduate of the W.I.T. School of Nursing. She has lived in Sioux City since 1980 and was a registered nurse with St. Luke's Hospital since 1982.

She was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband, Duane; one daughter, Audra of Sioux City; her parents, Richard and Delores Mahler of Cherokee; two brothers, Bryan Mahler of Alamogordo, N.M. and Blaine Mahler of Cherokee; one sister Diane Mahler of Sioux City and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
