Judge Daniel McCallum of Sibley, an Osceola County pioneer, who was for many years a leading lawyer of northwestern Iowa, died of cancer in the 49th year of his age. He enlisted when only 10 years old and served in the Twelfth and Twenty-Seventh Iowa regiments.
