Mrs. Ray (Millicent) France, 91, died Tuesday morning Aug 28 at her home in Cherokee.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug 31, at 2 pm from the Memorial Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Ray Kruger will officiate and burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery. There will e a D.A.R. service on tonight at 7:30 pm at the Boothby Funeral Home.

She was born on Dec 19, 1898 at Wilton Junction to Eugene H and Charlotte Curtis Derby. She grew up in the Kingsley area and then graduated from Wilson High School in Cherokee in 1919. She was married to Ray B. France on March 16, 1921 at Kingsley.

She has been a resident of Cherokee since 1925. She and her husband had owned and operated various agri-business enterprises in the Cherokee area. She was a member of the Memorial Presbyterian Church. She was a member and former Regent of the D.A.R., was a member of P.E.O., and was a former member of the Columbian Club and the Westminister Society.

She is survived by her husband, Ray; two daughters: Mrs. Vernice Van Duzer, Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Thomas (Marguerite) Andersen, Lillian, Alabama; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
