Dorothy Elizabeth Eischen, 85, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Saturday, January 3, 1998 at Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital in Cherokee.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 7, at 10 am at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee. Rev Timothy Schott will officiate and burial will be in the Visitation Cemetery at Maryhill. Visitation will be at the Greenwood Funeral Home in Cherokee today from 10:30 am to 9 pm with the parish wake service at 7:30 pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Eischen was born November 23, 1912 at Maryhill in Cherokee County, Iowa to Barney and Katherine (Peters) Albers. She received her education at the Visitation Catholic School at Maryhill. On September 25, 1935 she married Edward Eischen at Maryhill. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee.
Survivors include two daughters: Mary Jo and her husband, LeRoy Dickman, Sac City, Iowa; and Margo Eischen; two sons: Louie Eischen, Cherokee; and Ronnie Eischen and his wife, Diane, Omaha, Nebraska; eight grandchildren: Christine Eischen; Deborah and Clark Biggers; Andrea Eischen; Joan and Charles Ockenfels; Kathy and David Lohf; Nancy and Doug Sackett; Michael Dickman; Ann and Terry Straus; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward on November 21, 1969; three brothers: Bruno Albers; Gerhardt Albers; and John Albers; and three sisters: Mary Umhofer; Christine Umhofer; and Anne Wilson.
