Donald D Elliott, 42, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Sunday, June 15, 1997 at 12:35 pm in the Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital in Cherokee due to an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 19, at 2 pm at the St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cherokee. Rev. Gary Armstrong will officiate and burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Cherokee. There will be a family prayer service at 1:45 pm at the church on Thursday. Visitation will be all day today and all day Wednesday at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. The family will be present at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:30 pm to 8 pm.
Mr. Elliott was born April 1, 1955 in Cherokee to Joe A. and Dorothy (Christensen) Elliott. He graduated from Washington High School in 1974 and had lived in Cherokee all his life. He had worked for Christensen Bros. Inc. for many years and was currently working for Russell's Ready Mix. He was a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church. He loved auto racing; especially the Nascar Series.
Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Elliott of Cherokee; two brothers: Dennis and his special friend Kathy Comer, Ft. Meyers, Florida; and David and his wife Chris, Cherokee; one sister: Bonnie and her husband Gary Fields, Austin, Texas; three aunts: Arlene Christensen, Cherokee; June Hudson, Phoenix, Arizona; and Joyce and her husband Virgil Buck, Phoenix; and five nieces: Stephanie and Jennifer Elliott; Sarah Fields; and Amelia and Allison Elliott.
He was preceded in death by his father on January 9, 1991; and his grandparents.
