Oregon City, Ore - Services for Elmer N. Evans of Oregon City, Ore. were held Thursday, Aug 15 at 2 pm in the Hillside Chapel in Oregon City. Private entombment was held in the Mt. View Cemetery Mousoleum.
He died of cancer Monday, Aug 12 in the St. Vincent Hospital in Portland, Oregon at the age of 68.
He was born Sept 7, 1922 in Milwaukee, Wis. The family lived in Cherokee and he attended school in Cherokee, graduating in 1940.
He served as an electrician in the U.S. Navy for 20 years. He and his wife, the former Frances Brandt, lived in San Lorenzo, Calif. where he was employed as an electrician. The family moved to Oregon City, Ore. in 1986.
Survivors include his wife, Frances; his son, Richard B Evans and daughter-in-law, Linda, all of Oregon City, Ore; a brother Fremont H Evans of Milwaukee, Wis; a sister, Dorothy R Johnson of Aurelia; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr and Mrs Oscar Evans of Cherokee.
The family suggests that remembrances be contributions to the Oregon Division of the American Cancer Society.
