Another Death in the Family of Joseph Brown-The Baby Joins the Mother

Death has set its hand heavily on the household of Joseph Brown. The terrible scourge, diphtheria, entered the home and carried off first the 7 year old son then the mother. The husband and five children remained. The circumstances were too sad to picture, but the husband set out to do the best he could in caring for his flock of little ones. The quaratine had just been raised when the baby, between two and three years old, was taken sick with membranous croup. It was but a short struggle, and the little one died yesterday, shortly after noon. Sad as it is, the event brings beautiful thoughts. Baby is with mamma again, and brother too. If heaven is what it is pictured, who wants to go and have no little cherub there? Isn’t there enough in it to comfort those who weep?
