OBITUARY

Miss Maudie Wells died on Sunday morning, July 6, 1890. She was born nine miles south of town, July 4, 1876. The family moved to town three years ago last fall. Maudie was the second of a family of three daughters. About the first of the year she was taken with dropsy. Until her sickness she was regular and faithful scholar of the Sunday school of the First Baptist church. She was a great sufferer, but she bore her affliction with great fortitude. Sometimes she would seem better, but it was only for a short time. On the 4th she was able to take a short ride, she wanted so much to celebrate the 4th, the national as well as her own birthday. The funeral services were held at the home on Monday at 11 o’clock, conducted by the pastor of the First Baptist church.

Besides her father, mother and sisters, Maudie has a large number of friends to mourn her departure. Interment in Morgan cemetery. Following a list of flowers given by her friends:
