OBITUARY.
Alpheus Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Willard H. Miller of Pilot township, died Jan. 31, 1891, aged 9 years, 5 months and 14 days. He was ill but a short time, his death resulting from lung fever. The remains were interred in the East Side cemetery, Pilot township, services being conducted by Rev. W.L. Ferris.
Alpheus has gone from this dark world of ours,
No more together it shines with the flowers.
No more to linger where sunbeams must fade,
Where on beauty death’s cold, icy fingers are laid.Angels were anxiously longing to meet
One who walks with them in heaven’s bright street;
Loved ones have whispered, Alpheus is blest-
Free from earth’s troubles-taking sweet rest.Yes, there is one more in angelic bliss,
One less to nourish and one less to kiss.
One more has gone to heaven’s bright shore,
There may we meet three when life’s trials are o’er.
